Answering some of the most common queries about how to get started…
As a first step you can call or email me to arrange a free telephone consultation.
Next step, we will complete an initial assessment. Together, we look at why you are seeking counselling and discuss the areas of your life that you wish to improve, change or work on and how counselling might help you.
The initial assessment will also give you an opportunity to get a sense of what it is like to work with me and ask questions that you may have about counselling and my approach.
If after our initial meeting, we agree to work together, we can arrange regular session times. Weekly sessions are the most effective frequency.
Sessions are usually at the same time and on the same day each week.
I offer short term, where you and I may focus on one particular issue that you are having difficulty with.
I also offer long term, open ended sessions where you and I work together to understand your issue at a greater depth, and over time.
During your initial assessment the number of sessions will be discussed.
We will have regular reviews to ensure that you are getting the most out of your counselling sessions.
Individual sessions are 50 minutes.
Couples sessions are 60 minutes.
To better meet my client’s needs, I work with a flexible timetable.
